Award goes to young researcher

The DGAW-congress on “waste and resource management” has been initiated by the DGAW (German Society for Waste Management) to serve young scientists, business representatives and professors as a platform for exchange and discussion each year.

This year, participants of the 4th DGAW-congress met on the 27th and 28th of March 2014 at the University of Applied Sciences Münster. They discussed a wide range of topics concerning the waste management and environmental service sector. Lectures, panel discussions and the science award in waste and resource management are integral elements of the congress.

The Jury awarded Sebastian Kaulfeld with first place in the category “poster”. Mr. Kaufeld is a research assistant at the Department of Processing and Recycling and examines the influence of process parameters on the separation of substance mixtures. He was honored for his poster presentation about a test rig designed for the detection of the residence time behavior of individual grain factions during classification.
