ANTS at the 14th ISIE SEM Conference in Vienna
From September 19th to 21st, the 14th conference of the International Society for Industrial Ecology in Socioeconomic Metabolism was held in Vienna. Here, about 200 scientists gathered to discuss the challenges posed by intensifying climate change. The effects of man-made climate change require urgent action. The conference focused on solutions for a sustainable transformation of existing production and consumption systems.
As part of the conference, Wiebke Hagedorn gave a presentation on "Circular Design of Steel Products." Her work deals with the implementation of Circular Economy strategies in steel processing. In addition to the established recycling of steel products, it is particularly concerned with the ecological potential of so-called inner cycles, which make remelting obsolete.
