Learning objectives:

Knowledge of substantial connections in a mass balance for waste treatment processes; independent transformation of a treatment process into an arithmetical simulation and calculation of a mass balance.

• Structure of mass balancing and modeling of single separation processes with means of spreadsheet analysis
• Knowledge of materials and their representation in a model calculation (spreadsheet analysis)
• Process quality and distinction between groups of substances
• DIN flow charts and minimal information for technical planning
• Mass balancing for model processes
• Technical and economic evaluation of mass balancing
• Group work: Development of models of individual separation processes
