New publication on sensor-data-based process models
In a new publication, researchers from ANTS at RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with STADLER Anlagenbau GmbH present pioneering steps towards digital twins of waste sorting plants. The use of data-driven process models based on near-infrared-based process monitoring and machine learning should enable sorting plants to be designed and operated more efficiently in future.
The article "Towards digital twins of waste sorting plants: Developing data-driven process models of industrial-scale sensor-based sorting units by combining machine learning with near-infrared-based process monitoring" has been published in the journal "Resources, Conservation and Recycling" and can be accessed via the following DOI link Open Access: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.resconrec.2023.107257
Many thanks to STADLER Anlagenbau GmbH for the excellent cooperation and to the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for funding the underlying research as part of the EsKorte and ReVise research projects.
