- Types of waste for biological treatment, qualities, seasonal cycles
- Overview of the processing methods in waste composting
- Overview of the processing methods in waste fermentation (dry and wet)
- Qualitative requirements on the pre-conditioning before biological treatment
- Technical solutions for mechanical pre-treatment/ conditioning
- Transferring organic matter into a liquid phase of raw waste by pressing/ percolation
- Hygienic and legal requirements on products of fermentation/ composting
- Combination of anaerobic and aerobic treatment, full flux-/ part flux fermentation
- Mass and energy balance of mono- and combined processes
- Use of biological waste treatment products (solid/ liquid fermentation residue, composts, ”stabilat”)
- Cost calculation for biological treatment plants on the basis of realized projects
